Artist Oliverio Balcells will be leading a painting workshop where members of the community will have the opportunity to create a piece of art to take home with them. He has chosen to paint a depiction of The Eagle Sun in Motion. Join us to learn about the true meaning of the Aztec Calendar, or Piedra del Sol, based on the oral tradition and create your own art piece. This workshop will teach the participants the meaning behind this classic image, its history and its purpose, create your own 16” x 20” art piece with acrylic paint and a stencil based on the structure of the image. The cost to attend this workshop is $60, which includes all supplies (canvas, paints, etc), and wine/refreshments. Call Xico for more information at 480-833-5875.

"By developing their business professionally, artists can increase their opportunity for gallery showings, potential representation, and create a greater market to sell their work,” says Justin Germain. He wants to help artists learn how to do just that when they attend his Professional Artist Development Workshops later this week!
